Prof. Guruprasad R. Medigeshi, Laboratory Director
The Bioassay Laboratory at THSTI is being led by Prof. Guruprasad R. Medigeshi, with over 15 years of experience in Virology, Immunology and Cell biology. Dr. Guruprasad has procured his PhD from Georg-August University, Germany and has post-doctoral training from Oregon Health Science University, Portland, Oregon, USA.
Quality assurance and quality control team at the Bioassay Laboratory:
The Quality team ensures the compliance to Quality Policy and objectives at Bioassay laboratory, THSTI.
Ms. Neha Garg
is the Quality Manager at Bioassay Lab, THSTI since August 2020. She is a postgraduate in Biotechnology from Amity University, Noida and has 12 years of experience in quality. A certified internal auditor as per ISO 15189:2012 & IEC/ISO 17025:2017, Neha has completed the“Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (LSSGBC) course in Quality from KPMG.
Dr R.Kartik
Dr R.kartik has joined the Bioassay lab, THSTI as a coordination manager since Dec 2022. He has done PhD from National Botanical Research Institute (CSIR), University of Lucknow in Zoology. He has post doc experience from Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology and Indiana University School of Medicine, USA from July 2009 to April 2011.He underwent training on Awareness & Internal Auditor related to Laboratory Management System as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 conducted by SGS India Private Limited, Mumbai, India. He has 16 year’s experiences in domains of biological and clinical sciences in industry, corporate and institution during his professional career.
Mr. Kapil Kumar
Kapil Kumar joined Bioassay Laboratory, THSTI as a Technical Officer-1 on 4th January 2022. He completed his MSc in Microbiology from ANUCDE and B.Tech in Biotechnology from Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. He has a blend of 9 years of Technical and Management Experience. He served the Department of Biotechnology for 3.5 years as a Junior Analyst/Consultant (Technical). Prior to THSTI, he was working as a Technical Officer in National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad.
Mr. Parveen Singh
is working as a Data Entry Operator at Bioassay Lab, THSTI, since October 2022. He has procured his Gradation in Tourism Studies from Indra Gandhi National University, India and Diploma in Information Technology from Manav Bharti Institute, New Delhi, India. At Bioassay lab, his work is reviewing and managing the data.
Ms. Damini Pachori
Damini Pachori working as Administrative Assistant at Bioassay Lab, THSTI since May 2023. She completed her Bachelor of Science (Zoology) and Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences from Indira Gandhi National Open University, India. She has work experience of more than five (05) years in administration.
Technical Team:
Mr. Anantharaj A.
Mr. A Anantharaj is the Technical Manager at Bioassay Lab, THSTI and working since September 2019. A Post-graduate in Biochemistry from Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India, he has 11 years of experience in various National Institutes. He is also a certified internal auditor as per IS/ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and successfully provided the compliance for WHO accreditation for National Polio Laboratory. He currently manages the overall lab management and cell culture based neutralization assays, serological and molecular assays for SARS CoV-2, Flavivirus and Chikungunya virus for Vaccine development.
Mr. Janmejay Singh
is working as Senior Technical Officer at Bioassay Lab, THSTI. He has done his M.Sc. (Biotechnology) from DDU Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has more than seven years of experience in the virology & serology section of the quality control department for vaccine development and manufacturing.
Mr. Parveen Kumar
is working as a Senior Technical Officer in THSTI. He joined THSTI in December 2020. A postgraduate in Microbiology from Guru Jabheshwar University, he has worked as a Technical officer at the Department for vaccine development & Technology transfer at Indovax Private Limited, Hisar He has also participated in CDSCO and TFDA audits. At Bioassay lab, his work focuses on assay development for Dengue and Coronaviruses. He has a total of seven years’ experience in industry and research Institute.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar
Dr. Sandeep Kumar has joined BL as Senior Technical Officer in April 2023. He has completed PhD in the Animal Biochemistry from the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal. He has extensive experience in small animal studies.
Mr. Alok Tripathi
is the Technical Officer II at Bioassay lab, THSTI since January 2021. He has done his M.Sc in Biotechnology from DDU Gorakhpur University. Prior to this, he was employed at Indovax Private Limited, Hisar, as a Senior Production Officer. At Bioassay lab, he is primarily involved in cell culture-based assays for vaccine development. He has a total of seven years’ experience in industry and research Institute.
Dr. Khushboo Chaudhary
Dr. Khushboo Chaudhary is the Technical Officer II (TRP) at Bioassay Laboratory, THSTI since Dec 2022. She has completed his Ph.D in Biotechnology from Banasthali Vidyapeeth Tonk, Newai, India (2013-2018), and Postdoc, NRCE Hisar (2018-2020). She worked as Senior Research Associate in GISSER project (2022), Technical Assistant (2021), Technical Officer I (CEPI) at Bioassay Laboratory, Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), India (2020) and Lecturer (Department of Biotechnology), GCMT College affiliated Dr. B.R.A University, Agra, India (2012-2013). She has been completed certifications as per ISO 17025:2017, IS/ISO15189:2012 and currently handles serological assays in Bioassay Laboratory.
Ms. Ankita Lohumi
Ankita Lohumi has joined BL as a technical officer –II in Feb 2023. She is Masters in Microbiology and has 4 year of research experience in virology, vaccine and diagnostics, molecular biology. She has been involved in various ELISA and lateral flow assay optimization and validations.
Ms. Akshita Garg
Akshita Garg has joined BL as a Technical officer-I in Feb 2023. She has completed her graduation and master's in biotechnology from A.K.S University, Satna, Madhya Pradesh in 2019. She has an experience of 3 years in diagnostics R&D.
Ms. Pooja Kumari Shashi
Pooja Kumari Shashi has joined BL as the Technical Officer-I in March 2023. She has completed M.Sc. in life sciences in 2019 from Central University of South Bihar. She has extensive experience in molecular and immunological assays.
Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Tantary
Shakeel Ahmad Tantary has joined as Technical officer-I in June 2023. He is Masters in Microbiology from HNB Central Garhwal University, Uttarakhand and has 4 years of experience in immunology, virology, bacteriology, Molecular biology and Vaccines.
Mr. Imran Khan
He joined THSTI in 2010 & currently working at Bioassay Lab, as a Lab Technician. He has completed his Post-graduation studies in Biochemistry and holds a Diploma in MLT from IMA, New Delhi, India. Mr. Imran has also participated in JCI, CAP, NABL and NABH audits and has worked for the phase-III ROTAVAC vaccine clinical trials. He has procured quality certifications as per ISO 17025:2017 and currently handles all serological assays in Bioassay Lab.
